NBA fans around the world were stunned when Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton likely suffered an Achilles tear during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This marks the third Achilles injury to a star player in this year’s playoffs. Earlier, Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum both suffered season-ending Achilles tears.

During a live NBA Finals watch party on Gil's Arena, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas revealed that both Lillard and Tatum told him they had been dealing with calf issues prior to their injuries.

"Even with Jayson Tatum when I asked him about the Achilles — and Dame — [I asked] was your calf hurting before? And they both said yes," Arenas said.

Haliburton had previously been diagnosed with a calf strain after getting injured in Game 5 and was questionable for Game 6.

Prior to the injury, Haliburton had an incredible playoff run, hitting four game-winning shots during this year’s playoffs and averaging 17.3 points, 8.6 assists, and 5.3 rebounds throughout the postseason.
