The Nets announced that the former star guard's #15 jersey will be hung in the rafters on January 25th, 2025, this upcoming season during the game against the Miami Heat.

Carter will join Drazen Petrovic (#3), Jason Kidd (#5), John Williamson (#23), Bill Melchionni (#25), Julius Erving (#32), and Charles 'Buck' Williams (#52) in the list of Nets retired jersey holders.

The former NBA player, best known for his explosive dunks and athletic highlights, averaged his best scoring numbers with then-New Jersey Nets. Carter reached all three career highs in points, rebounds, and assists when he was a member of the Nets.

"We are thrilled to honor former Nets player Vince Carter, who contributed so much to this organization both on and off the court," Nets Governor Joe Tsai said following the official announcement.
