While his contract with the Serbian Basketball Federation is set to expire following the Olympics, Pesic acknowledged that he is unsure what the future holds for him beyond that point.

"Now it's time to celebrate this big victory and bronze medal. I don't have any plans. For the first time in my life, I don't know what I want to do in the next few days. To be with my family, friends and celebrate. Take vacation. I don't know, really," Pesic, 74, responded in the press conference.

"Everybody knows that I'm ready to help Serbian basketball. And today, we don't have our national league, although basketball in Serbia is the most important sport. But we must think about developing our basketball. Who will be the head coach and other functions? I don't know. Now it's important to analyze these Olympics and prepare for the Los Angeles 2028," Pesic concluded.

He guided the Serbian national team to an Olympic bronze medal in Paris and secured a silver medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Under his guidance, Serbia reached the quarterfinals in the 2022 EuroBasket tournament.

"As I said, this is one of the most competitive tournaments of all time. So we're very happy to be at this Olympics and win today," Pesic said in his opening statement at the press conference.

"We controlled the game. I think we played a very solid game. Like before against the USA. The coaching staff did an excellent job regarding the defensive plan against Schroder and Wagner. And then, everybody knows we have very talented offensive players. That’s been one of the best German teams of all time. Clearly, both teams deserved to play tonight at 9 o'clock in the final," he concluded.
