The All-Star center addressed a bruised left knee and ligament damage in his left finger, both of which occurred during high-intensity playoff matchups.
Towns first injured his finger in Game 3 of the second-round series against the Boston Celtics, continuing to play through it.
He then suffered a knee injury during the Eastern Conference Finals showdown with the Indiana Pacers.
Despite the setbacks, Towns remained a dominant force for New York. He scored at least 20 points in every game against the Pacers and recorded double-doubles in five of the six games in that series.
Following the Game 6 elimination by Indiana, Towns opted to undergo immediate procedures to begin his recovery as early as possible. The goal is to be fully ready for training camp ahead of the 2025–26 season.
During the 2024–25 NBA Playoffs, Towns averaged 21.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting an efficient 48.8% from the field and 35.1% from beyond the arc.
