During the quarterfinal match between Greece and Germany, Giannis Antetokounmpo got ejected after receiving his second unsportsmanlike foul.

The Greek Freak inadvertently elbowed Johannes Thiemann on the head with just under five minutes to go in the fourth quarter and Greece trailing by 14 (96-82), essentially sealing the game for the underdogs.

Talking about the episode with Sport1, Thiemann admitted that it was not easy facing the superstar.

"It's not easy to put up with him. As you can see, this guy is a machine. The hit got me pretty hard," the center told. "He is a two-time NBA MVP for a reason. He's an incredibly good player. Sure, he still scored 31 points, but overall we controlled him well."

"He was kicked out and then had to leave the court, so he didn't apologize," Thiemann shared. "I'm still waiting for him to send me a message on Instagram."

Germany will face Spain today in the second semifinal of EuroBasket 2022 with the hopes of making it to the final. The match is scheduled to start at 20:30 CET.
