Wemby missed the final two months of the season due to a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right shoulder—a condition where blood clots form inside a blood vessel.
Now, the 21-year-old French star is on track to be a full participant when next season begins.
In 46 starts this past regular season, Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and an NBA-best 3.8 blocks per game.
He was named the unanimous NBA Rookie of the Year in 2023–24 and made his first All-Star appearance in the 2024–25 season.
Selected first overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Wembanyama has played in 117 games (all starts) over two seasons, averaging 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game. He has also made 270 three-pointers.
