The 28-year-old, 2.08-meter American big man recently completed a season with the Hiroshima Dragonflies, where he established himself as the team's second-leading scorer.
Blackshear averaged 15.0 points, 7.9 rebounds (2.5 ORB), 3.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
His consistent production earned him the sixth spot in the league's efficiency rankings, with 23.2 EFF over 55 appearances.
Blackshear recorded 12 double-doubles throughout the season. He nearly achieved a triple-double, posting 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists against Shimane Susanoo Magic.
Blackshear joined Hiroshima in 2022 after previous stints with Hapoel Gilboa Galil and Galatasaray Istanbul.
His move to Gunma comes after the Crane Thunders wrapped up a 2024-25 campaign, finishing with a 39-21 record before being eliminated in the B.League quarterfinals.
Gunma's frontline featured well-known EuroLeague names Johannes Thiemann and Kaleb Tarczewski this season.
According to BasketNews sources, AJ Edu, another high-profile shot blocker from the B.League, is also expected to join the team this offseason.
