The 35-year-old big man arrives to bolster the team as they push for success in both the EuroLeague and Greek League.

Pleiss reunites with head coach Ergin Ataman, under whom he won two EuroLeague titles with Anadolu Efes Istanbul in 2021 and 2022. His arrival comes at a crucial time for Panathinaikos, who have been dealing with injuries to Mathias Lessort and Omer Yurtseven, while Kostas Antetokounmpo recently left the team.

Bringing a wealth of experience, Pleiss has played for top European clubs like Barcelona, Baskonia, Galatasaray, and Valencia, along with a brief NBA stint with the Utah Jazz in 2015-16.

Known for his size (2.21m), shooting touch, and interior presence, he is expected to provide stability in the paint and stretch the floor with his mid-range and three-point shooting.

For his career in the EuroLeague, he averages 8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.7 blocks, and a PIR of 9.5 per game.

With the EuroLeague playoffs approaching, Panathinaikos hopes that Pleiss can make an immediate impact and help solidify their rotation.
