The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly the frontrunners to acquire De'Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks, who have been receiving calls regarding the 27-year-old swingman's potential trade.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are the frontrunners for De'Andre Hunter, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
The Atlanta Hawks have been fielding calls regarding Hunter, a 6'8" swingman who is attracting considerable interest.
These reports came to fruition just before the Feb. 6 deadline, as Hunter has been traded to the Cavs for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks, and two pick swaps.
This season, the 27-year-old Hunter has been averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 37 games.
Hunter was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers as the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
He was then traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis deal, before being sent to the Hawks along with Solomon Hill in exchange for picks Nos. 8, 17, and 35 in the same draft.
Since joining the Hawks, Hunter has played in 300 career games, making them his only NBA team.
