AS Monaco are gearing up for an ambitious move in the EuroLeague. According to BasketNews sources, the Roca Team has made a proposal to buy a long-term EuroLeague license.

Monaco have clinched a spot in the 2024-25 EuroLeague roster following its playoff run this year, but the club seems to have bigger aspirations.

AS Monaco aim to establish a lasting presence in the EuroLeague by securing a permanent spot in the competition, indicating its commitment to a long-term project.

The project includes the construction of a new arena in Monaco, with plans underway to have it ready in the coming years, sources tell BasketNews.

Since their EuroLeague debut in 2021-22, Monaco have consistently proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

They've clinched playoff berths for three consecutive seasons, a feat matched by only four other elite EuroLeague clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Olympiacos, and Maccabi. In their second year, AS Monaco even made it to the Final Four.

They've maintained an average net budget of 8.3M euros for player and coach salaries during this stretch, placing them around the top 10 in the EuroLeague in terms of financial investment.

Monaco is setting its sights on another historic milestone this year, with star player Mike James emerging as a top contender for the EuroLeague MVP award.
