Buducnost hired Petar Mijovic to replace Jovanovic. It will be the third time Mijovic takes a head coaching opportunity in the club having previously been at the helm twice following two departures by other specialists.
After two painful losses in a row, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica decided to part ways with their head coach Vladimir Jovanovic.
Last week, the club suffered two defeats in a row. First, the Montenegrin team was eliminated from the EuroCup after losing to ratiopharm Ulm in the Round of 16. On Saturday, Buducnost had to bow down to Borac Cacak in the ABA League.
At around 11:20 PM local time after the game, the organization announced the termination of the contract with the head coach.
A day after the announcement, Buducnost revealed that a new specialist - Petar Mijovic - was hired to replace Jovanovic.
It will be the third head coaching stint at Buducnost for Mijovic. When Jasmin Repesa resigned back in April 2019, he took the interim head coaching position. In October of that same year, Mijovic took over once again following Slobodan Subotic's departure and coached the team until the end of the 2020-21 season.
With 18 wins and 7 losses, Buducnost are currently 3rd in ABA League.
