Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade will appeal the decision to suspend Mathias Lessort for three games, Mozzart Sport reports.
In addition to a 3-game suspension, the French forward also received a 10 000 fine.
At the moment, Lessort would miss the games against Cedevita Ljubljana Olimpija, FMP Belgrade, and Igokea.
Partizan have a right to file an appeal in the next 48 hours that the club will exercise. Partizan hope to reduce the number of games Lessort won't be able to play.
ABA League made its decision based on items 1.,3., 4., 5., 7.1., 8., 9., 10., 12., 15., 17., 26.1. and 27.1. of the AdmiralBet ABA League Disciplinary Code.
Based on Article 27.1, the player could receive a suspension between 3 and 15 games.
Crvena Zvezda called for the most serious punishment that the rule allows.
Lessort was named the Week 21 MVP by the league the next day.
This season the 27-year-old French averages 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 15.7 EFF in ABA League.
In the EuroLeague, Lessort puts up 12.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 19.9 PIR per game.
