FC Bayern Munich have announced that the German forward Paul Zipser will continue playing in Munich until 2024, as a new three-year contract has been signed.

Zipser made his pro debut in 2011 with MLP Academics Heidelberg of the second German division. After three years with the team, the 27-year-old transferred to Bayern, where he has played for four seasons.

In 2016, Zipser tried his luck in the NBA. He spent two seasons with the Chicago Bulls and their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls.

Zipser played 98 games in the NBA, averaging 4.7 points and 2.6 rebounds over 17 minutes.

The 2.03 m forward came back to Europe in 2018, joining San Pablo Burgos. After one year with the Spanish squad, Zipser returned to Bayern in 2019, where he has been playing ever since.

During the semifinals of last season's German Basketball Bundesliga, Zipser suffered a brain hemorrhage. The forward is still recovering from the injury and there is no timetable for his return.

Zipser averaged 9.1 points (43.8% from three), 3.0 rebounds, and 9.6 EFF over 22 minutes of action in last season's EuroLeague.

The German contributed 10.4 points (42.3% from three), 3.9 rebounds, and 12.7 EFF over 22.1 minutes in the German league.
